Buyers have stopped scrolling. They ask a machine

Overseas buyers increasingly do not work down a list of results. They hand the sourcing question to a generative engine, receive a synthesised shortlist, and send enquiries to the names on it. This observation comes from publicly visible changes in retrieval behaviour; this site holds no quantitative data of its own on it, and it is marked as inference rather than established fact.

If the shift holds, there are three things a company currently has no reading on: whether it appears in that shortlist, who it is placed alongside, and whose account of it the engine is citing. Ranking and traffic reports cannot answer these, because they measure a different retrieval pattern.

It does not change the order of judgement, only adds an entrance. The buyer still passes understand, verify and buy; the engine has simply performed the first screen on their behalf, using material written by other people. So the problem at this layer is usually not a shortage of content but a shortage of checkable fact a machine can read.

Before a baseline exists, any change becomes a guess with nothing to compare against. In six months you will know you spent the money and not whether it worked. This holds regardless of channel, before any change at all.

One thing to say in advance: no claim of guaranteed AI recommendation holds, including any made by this site. Generative answers are unstable, a single prompt does not constitute a ranking, and only repeated sampling across several phrasings shows a tendency. Anyone offering that guarantee is describing a variable they do not control.
